About Juliá Melià Alomà
Coming from a family of renowned journalists, I have always enjoyed reading and writing and, as a child, I saw myself working in communication when I grew up. Later, I discovered my passion for science and, fascinated by the complexity of the human body and wanting to understand better how it works, I decided to study Human Biology. I always thought there was something very exciting in learning about the unknown and, driven by this strong curiosity, I quickly became interested in experimental research and went on to do an MSc and PhD in Biomedicine, where I specialised in cancer research. It was during my postdoctoral studies that I came to know about the field of healthcare communication, and it became clear that it would be the perfect choice for my career.
This job allows me to keep up with the latest research and I love the challenge of explaining those learnings so they can be easily understood by different target audiences. My studies have provided me with the tools and ability to understand and interpret complex ideas, which I am able to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner.
